Many of Beaba's products are made of food-grade silicone that’s free of harmful chemicals such as BPA, BPS, PVC or phthalates.
Silicone is an extremely durable material that’s kind to little one's and the environment. Your tot can start their solids journey free from harmful chemicals that are commonly absorbed by food served on regular plastic kids’ tableware. Silicone is also a environmentally friendly choice as the environmental footprint for silicone production is much lower than for comparable materials.
The downside to silicone toddler tableware is it easily stains. To prevent food stains, clean your Beaba product immediately and dry in direct sunlight, generally food stains fade over time and will disappear eventually.
Phosphate-free dishwashing detergents may cause silicone tableware to hold on to certain smells. This smell in no way is this a risk to your family. Adding a dash of white vinegar or a non-toxic rinse aid to your wash cycle will fix this in no time.
We recommend cleaning your Beaba Silicone Suction tableware on the steam or dry setting when using your dishwasher. Also spacing products within your dishwasher will also help to rinse the detergent off thoroughly.
Silicone is odourless, but smells from food, oils, plastics or detergent can take a liking to your Beaba products. If possible, store your baby's tableware separately to plastic products because they can absorb a plastic smell if kept in close proximity for too long.
If your product has taken on a scent of something it has come in contact with, placing it in boiling water for about 15 minutes will help remove any smell. For stubborn stains try a baking soda paste - make a paste by mixing baking soda with a small amount of water. Apply the paste to the stained areas and let it sit for about 15 minutes. Then, scrub gently with a sponge or soft brush and rinse thoroughly.
